Interview w/a medical patient via email?

For 9th Grade Assessment, my group and I have chosen stem cell research. We conduct research, including at least one interview, write a script, then we finally present the information in a debate highlighting the pros and cons of stem cell research.

I’m planning to interview one of these patients below:

http://vescell.com/meet-stem-cell-patient.php

Those patients have undergone adult stem cell treatment for heart-related diseases and conditions and recovered successfully. I’m slightly more inclined to the patients whose photos are displayed; I’m thinking they’ll be more likely to answer questions.

As for the email, what should I do? (I have never done an interview before.) For example, the format, the length, the number of questions, should I include personal information, thank yous, etc.

Questions for the interview aren’t particularly needed, but it you would like to contribute some, that would be wonderful.

All help is very much and deeply appreciated.

Interview questions: Why I want to change jobs?

I studied Life Science/Computer Science. when I came out of university in 2007 I took a software testing job for a small medical imaging company worked for 1.5 years. I applied to hospitals, big corporations like General electric, Pflizer and government’s health division but never had interviews. I got fed up and took this government agency job that is not in the health industry which I am currently working at for 1.1 year. I really miss the healthcare industry so I want to go back. The reason I left the first company I worked for because is a small company with no HR department, benefits were poor (covers less than 50% for dental and no vision coverage), the owners are cheap etc. At that time it was either work in non-health related government job or work in heatlh related but small company where owner treat us like slaves.

Please read my entire situation and post!!! Cloud computing project- is it feasible in 3 months?

The project should involve an application which utilizes a cloud, similar to Amazon EC2 thus showing the increased efficiency while running.

Me and My friends knowledge(on behalf of my friend.. actually he knows more than in this list :D )
Computer Network basics– mainly from Fehrouzan
Languages:
Front End: Java,C,C++, Visual C++,PERL(learning now)
Backend: DBMS(SQL),

My Questions

Suggest a book/other resource which enables me and my friend to grasp the basics and go in detail when it comes to coding itself.

A book with a sample application would be really useful- mandatory.

My timespan is at the max, 3 months, so is it achievable?

Anyone who has undertaken such projects in cloud computing, plz mention the resources used and the skills required to pull this one of.

Troubleshooting Your Business Strategies

A business strategy is a work in progress. It is not a one shot deal. It should continually evolve to suit the current business climate. At some point in time, you may have assessed if your strategy is actually doing what it is meant to do.

You probably asked this question because chances are that someone you hired had specifically developed this for you and prepared this strategy.

This is true for many business owners because either they do not have the time to actually sit down and write the strategy, or they are terrified when they hear the word business strategy. For some it involves a lot of analyzing using tools like SWOT analysis, environmental scanning, risk analysis, financial prospects, etc. Well, they are. However, as a business owner you cannot just rely on a specialist or a consultant to do the thinking for you. True, they are trained and paid to do business strategies. However, implementing the strategy is another thing.

More often than not, these specialists and consultants are not very familiar with the ins and outs of your business. Often they come in, interview a couple of management people, look at some graphs, refer to some statistics, and Voila! They have a business strategy for you. I do not have anything against consultants or specialists but these people come in to your business with a package. They are not coming in to really look into the business in order to develop a plan; they are bringing in a template. A template that they have been prescribing to many businesses long before you hired them. A little tweaking to factor in some business peculiarities and you have for yourself a business strategy.

A template, though not necessarily bad, can go wrong. This can be particularly if it does not suit the business. Perhaps the strategy is not achieving the desired results, or worse, a misguided strategy can put the entire business at risk. Regardless of the severity of your concern, it is up to you as the business owner to make the necessary changes along the way.

Take this for example. If you realized that your marketing collaterals such as your posters are not achieving their purpose, will you immediately order a recall? Why not? You can do this but the question is will it help you or the business? Pulling them out of circulation is not only a waste of time and resources. You have to consider the amount of money you put into poster printing and the amount of time it took you to distribute it and eventually the time you will spend pulling them down.

It is also dangerous because of perceptions that something has gone wrong with your business or your products and services. What is important is for you to find ways to express your concerns in a manner that will not adversely affect the reputation of your business. By acting cautiously and thoughtfully, you can address your concerns without alarming the general clientele and your team.

Admittedly, business strategy development is a difficult and challenging task because it is time-intensive and often involves a messy process. The result is never perfect. Far from it! However, as the business owner, you have the obligation to act decisively if you see that there is something wrong in your business strategy.

What Questions Should Customers Ask Removal Companies?

Moving one’s home can be a daunting undertaking. A family’s household goods are their most valuable possessions. Top quality removal companies can reduce the stress and increase the security for the family. If customers ask the following questions, they will be better able to make a sensible choice. The phone can be used for the first set of questions and later an appointment can be set for a preliminary evaluation and the second set plus others can be asked.

Phone questions:

#1: What locations are serviced by the removal companies?
By asking this question, the customer can determine if the removal companies are familiar with the area where the family is moving.

#2: When did the removal company start business and when did they start doing business in the destination area?
This will be a simple answer that demonstrates the amount of experience they have at the destination.

#3: Each month what is the company’s number of deliveries to the destination?
The more deliveries that a company makes, the greater the probability that the company will really know the area’s roads, driving conditions, and any necessary governmental officials.

#4: What is the age and condition of the equipment? How many pieces of equipment and how many employees does the company have?
There are always unknown factors in business. Knowing the quantity and condition of the company’s equipment can tell a customer how well the removal companies will respond to a breakdown, a need for a larger crew or a technical glitch.

#5: Does the company offer customer protection?
Removal companies know that accidents are a part of doing business. They should offer insurance compensation for damage to shipments and worker error or theft.

#6: Do they provide references?
Former customers are some of the best sources of information abut a company. They can give an unvarnished account of the service they were provided and of any problems they encountered.

In-Person Interview Questions:

#7: How will the household goods be packed?
Knowing this will show what kind of customer care will be employed by the removal company’s workers.

#8: What is the timing of the whole process – packing the household goods, loading them, transporting them and finally unloading?
This is a crucial question as it tells the owners of the household goods what their schedule will be.

#9: Will weight or space be used determine the price or can the company quote a fixed price?
The cost will certainly influence which of their belongings the family will be able to take to their new location.

#10: What other charges will be included in the cost of moving?
Occasionally there are conditions that increase the cost of a move because extra services or effort is required. Examples of these extras are moving a piano, carrying the items an extraordinarily long way or needing to use stairs at the final destination. It is very unpleasant to have budgeted a certain amount for moving expenses and then have some unexpected charges occur.

#11: What will be the cost of the move if the customer does not use the company’s packing services?
This is an important option to know about in order to save money.

Asking good questions is an important first step in planning a move. These eleven questions will help make the process smooth.
