In interviews for Software Testing, why do they always ask programming questions?

programming questions based on C++ or Java – they have nothing to do with Testing

    But they do, because you test differently depending on which language you’re writing in – certain languages have shortcomings which are especially important in white box testing – less important in black box testing.

    If you are capable of understanding the functionality of C++ or other programming languages means that u can perform testing well and learn other processes easily.

    You have to understand the basic of the programming language to be a better tester. If it is a software testing, you may have to write test script to test certain functionality of the program. For example, some company’s products is a package. You may have to write some program to use the software package and also codes to test the package.
